Modern Slavery Statement

Val Wade Recruitment Ltd  is committed to combating modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms. We recognise our responsibility to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not take place within our operations or supply chains. This statement outlines the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking and fulfill our obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Our Business

We are dedicated to conducting our business ethically, with integrity, and in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Our Policies

We have implemented robust policies and procedures to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains, including:

  • Supplier Code of Conduct: Our Supplier Code of Conduct sets out the minimum standards we expect from our suppliers, including a prohibition on the use of forced labour, child labour and unethical labour practices.

  • Recruitment Policy: We have a strict recruitment policy that includes thorough background checks and verification of eligibility to work for all employees.

  • Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage our employees and suppliers to report any concerns related to modern slavery or human trafficking through our confidential whistleblowing channels.

Due Diligence

We conduct due diligence on our suppliers to assess and mitigate the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking. This includes:

  • Supplier Assessments: We assess our suppliers’ compliance with our Supplier Code of Conduct through regular evaluations and audits.

  • Supplier Engagement: We engage with our suppliers to raise awareness of modern slavery risks and work together to address any identified issues.

  • High-Risk Areas: We identify high-risk areas within our supply chains and take targeted actions to mitigate the risks, such as conducting additional audits and inspections.

Training and Awareness

We provide training to our employees involved in procurement and supply chain management to ensure they understand the risks of modern slavery and how to identify and report any suspicious activities.

Measuring Effectiveness

We regularly review the effectiveness of our anti-slavery measures and make improvements where necessary. We believe in continuous improvement and are committed to strengthening our efforts to combat modern slavery and human trafficking.

This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by Emma Darbyshire – Managing Director .

Publication

This statement is made as part of Val Wade Recruitment’s commitment to eliminating the exploitation of people under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the Act). It summarises how Val Wade Recruitment operates, the policies and processes in place to minimise the possibility of any problems, any risks we have identified,  how we monitor them and how we train our staff.

This statement is published in accordance with section 54 of the Act, and relates to the financial year from May 1st 2023 to April 30th 2024.
