Job Description

Finance Officer, Gallery, London, Temporary for 3-4 months, £16.50 an hour plus holiday pay accrual, hybrid working

Our client, a gallery in London, requires a Finance Officer to join their Operations team during their busy year end period. The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining records and supporting financial processes. This is a hybrid working role – interviews will be in mid February with a view to starting the role in March.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing supplier invoices on Purchase Ledger, and staff expenses accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensuring invoices are correctly coded and authorised
  • Reconciling suppliers' statements and reviewing aged creditors reports
  • Managing daily correspondence with suppliers regarding invoices and payments
  • Posting monthly expenditure accruals and prepayment journals
  • Payment run preparation with the Senior Financial Accountant
  • Manage the use of company credit cards
  • Post monthly expenditure accruals and prepayments journals
  • Assist in reconciling balance sheet accounts monthly and resolve reconciliation differences
  • Reconcile income posted to Dimensions to Salesforce records
  • Post monthly depreciation journal and assist with maintaining Fixed Asset Register
  • Assist with year end audit preparation and reconciliations when required
  • Weekly banking of cash and cheques from retail outlet
  • Prepare Gift Aid submissions for review
  • Assist Finance Business Partner with preparation of management accounts

Requirements:

  • Experience working within accounts
  • Experience using Access Dimensions or a similar accounting package
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience in delivering excellent customer service
  • Aptitude to work on own initiative and as a member of a small team
  • Data entry skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive and flexible attitude with strong time management and organisational abilities
  • Possibly to have begun studying towards AAT, CIMA or ACCA
